Stay details

Glamping at Finca is a bell tent stay within an eco farm inside the Tacotal colectivo ecovillage in the mountains of Alajuela, Costa Rica. Two tent configurations are available — one with a pair of double beds and one with a queen — each positioned next to a communal rancho with views toward Turrubari Mountain. Guests have access to an outdoor shower, composting toilets, a communal kitchen and lounge with hammocks, and private access to the Machuca River and community trails. An optional organic vegetarian food buy-in is offered on site.

Is this stay a good fit?

Best suited for
Travelers wanting an elevated, more comfortable take on off-grid camping — guests drawn to a spacious bell tent with proper beds (double or queen configurations), mountain views from a shared communal rancho, a hammock-filled lounge, and private river and trail access inside Tacotal's colectivo ecovillage. Well suited to couples or small groups wanting glamping-level comfort with genuine immersion.
Not ideal for
Guests wanting a fully enclosed, private structure or hotel-style amenities — this is a tent-based stay with shared composting toilets and an outdoor shower, suited to travelers comfortable with communal off-grid living rather than conventional accommodations.

Collectivo Tacotal

One of Costa Rica's oldest intentional communities — 60 acres of forest and farmland along the Rio Machuca, collectively owned since 2007 and run entirely by consensus. Smaller, quieter, and less structured than its neighbours by design.
