Cuarto Mono is a private room on an 18-year-old off-grid permaculture farm within the Tacotal community in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The room is situated upstairs in the main community house and has a personal yoga deck with a hammock, overlooking an orchard with sunset views toward the Maderal ridge. Monkeys are regularly spotted in the surrounding trees. The farm runs on solar power with gravity-fed water and maintains a productive garden of fruit trees and native plants. Guests share the house with a small number of other residents and have access to the communal vegetarian kitchen. Garden space and private river access via the Tacotal community trails are also included.
